February 2021 Cultural Appropriation & Appreciation Round Table
By Invitation Only, A Red Tent Welcome Sister Event
February 13th, 2020 at 6 pm MST (8 pm EST) via Zoom
Welcome Sister,

Thank you for your interest in becoming part of our beautiful community of women and Sacred Sisterhood. Our February gathering is Priestessed by the Mother of our Red Tent Temple, Snake Maiden, and the Grandmother of our Temple, Singing Otter.
We invite you to join us in a round table discussion on cultural appropriation and appreciation. A long overdue and necessary conversation, we have decided to hold a loving space for ourselves and each other as we explore cultural norms and expectations while considering our white privilege, as it applies.
As our understanding of cultural norms, sensitivities, and expectations change, it is our responsibility to hear the desires and needs of disenfranchised groups expressing their thoughts, feelings, concerns, and desires. Lastly, discussions on cultural appropriation can be tense and challenging AND, it is our intention to hold a loving sacred space to develop a deeper understanding of ourselves and each other.
Our programs this year are focused on 'The Art of Mindful Living.' Therefore, we are focusing this months Tent on 'how we honor ourselves and our community with respect by redefining boundaries.' We hope this will provide a framework for your own Self exploration when incongruencies emerge in your life that need addressing.

What is Red Tent?
Each Tent offered is an opportunity to enter the Temple of the Goddess. A Divine honor and privilege to be alive in a place and space in time where we are safe and free to gather. Together, we are healing our wounds of suffering and silence from the past. As we heal, our healing ripples across time and space reaching through the portal of time. To be seen by the Goddess and witnessed by our Sisters is more powerful than you can imagine!

The Red Tent, by Anita Diamant, is the book that has inspired a Global Movement. Women who read this book unlock an ancient memory and longing to gather with other women and remember who they are as sacred and holy vessels of Spirit.
There is also a wonderful documentary I officially endorse under Nectar of Life Counseling called Things We Don't Talk About: Women's Stories from the Red Tent.
Not sure about how Christianity and the Goddess can co-exist?
Dance of the Dissident Daughter, by Sue Monk Kidd, opens long hidden secrets of what was dissolved from scripture through intentional acts of erasing the value and importance of women. The research has already been expertly done by a self-proclaimed conventionally religious woman.
